Series and Parallel resistance calculator is designed to calculate the equivalent resistance. In this calculator, you can determine the equivalent resistance for upto 5 resistors.

Resistance is the property of a resistor, by which it opposes the flow of electric current through it. For more detailed understanding, read the series and parallel combination of resistors.

In the calculator, choose whether the equivalent resistance is to be determined for series or parallel connection. Then select the number of resistors(Max. 5 resistors) and enter the values of each resistor. Now, when you press the calculate button, you can see the output.

If there are n resistors connected in series, then the equivalent resistance is given by,

    \[ R_{eq} = R_1 + R_2 + R_3 + ....... + R_n \]

If there are n resistors connected in parallel, then the equivalent resistance is given by,

    \[ \frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{R_1} + \frac{1}{R_2} + \frac{1}{R_3} ........ \frac{1}{R_n} \]

Thus the equivalent resistance in this case is given by,

    \[ \frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{R_1} + \frac{1}{R_2} + \frac{1}{R_3} + \frac{1}{R_4} + \frac{1}{R_5} \]
